Built in 1976, the La Grave Cable Car looks like something out of a Wes Anderson film and is operated by a dedicated group of people deeply passionate about the French big mountain icon.  You know how they say “They don’t make them like they used to”…that expression couldn’t be more true for this wonderful piece of machinery thats upkeep and operation has become somewhat of a “family business” for those involved. If you can get a bit wispy when talking about local hill’s antiquated but charming equipment (i.e. the single at Mad River Glen) this homage might just hit home.
