Mt. Rose Ski Resort is looking to open for the ski season as soon as next week. The Nevada ski area says that it needs just sightly cooler overnight temperatures to fire up their snow guns and get the resort up and running.

As of right now, Mt. Rose is shooting to open next Thursday, October 29.

If Mt. Rose can get some help from Mother Nature the plan is to open the Flying Jenny lift. This would open up access to the area known as the show off as well as the beginner area.

Mike Pierce, director of marketing for Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, told mynews4 that the “Last time we had actually kind of Indian summer temps like this before the year of 1997, that was a huge year for us.”
