Bookings for Colorado ski vacations have been sluggish this year. Despite coming off a strong season many skiers and riders are holding off on booking their 2015 -2016 ski trip.

“Typically, once the snow starts flying, people get in the mood for skiing,” Winter Park public relations director Steve Hurlbert said.

“Now is absolutely the best time,” Hurlbert said. “The best savings are right now, right before all the areas open and you can still get a great deal. There’s a great misnomer that skiing is super expensive and that’s not the case if you book early.”

Winter Park’s opening day is set for Nov. 18.
