It is just now being reported that a man died in a skiing accident at Mt. Hood Skibowl on New Year’s Eve. The Clackamas County Sheriff confirmed the death, but didn’t issue a press release on the incident because “no other skiers were involved and there were no other special circumstances”.
37-year-old Brian Fletcher, of Medford, was descending Skibowl’s Middle Reynolds trail at around 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 when he caught an edge and fell, landing on his head and chest.
Fletcher was declared dead on the mountain.
