The Best Amateur Ski Porn From The Past Year

By  Barclay Idsal

If I see another faux artsy ski edit, I’m going to barf in my pants. Let’s get real. Music videos have been out of style since 1999 and no skier is going to be the next Andy Warhol (Sorry Sage). So let’s get back to the basics and showcase fun. Call me old fashioned but I like a story, a unique setting, some relatable actors, and a little dialogue in my ski porn. Here is the Best Amateur Ski Porn from the 2013/2014 season.

1. Pats and Tats: “European Vacation”

Pats and Tats are doing skiing good. Drinking beer out of penguins and skiing around Italy in sports coats to attract foreign women are all good moves. Add in a little travel, some powder skiing, and an Italian après dance party and we have a winner.

2. Janky Films: “April Fools”

The Janky Films crew was new to skiing powder this year. Releasing what was possibly the most fun/relatable edit of the year, The Janky Crew incorporated funny dialogue, ski culture (See The Palisades), and perspective. Some weird skinning technique and 6ft of snow later, the Janky Crew suckled on the milk of an otherwise barren season.

3. Sander Hadley. “The Way I See It”

Sander Handley is the American version of Candide Thovex. His edits are thoughtful and filled with crackly go-pro sound that lets you know how fast he’s really going. Making Snowbird his personal La Balme is fitting, especially a year after Candide released his now famous “One of Those Days.”

4. Jeff Brines. “The Other Hours”

Jeff and his GoPro got some amazing footage over the last year. So much so, his edit was picked up by likes of Business Insider Online. In the end, everyone was impressed by what this working stiff pulled off in #theotherhours.

5. 205 Productions: “Out For A Rip”

No sponsorships here… obviously. Just three friends traveling around Canada, seeing what the “Powder Highway” has to offer. One tele, one alpine, and one boarder, the 205 crew makes skiing look not so serious but lots of fun. Nose picking, tailgating, and backseat skiing makes this edit great. Backseat 4 life boys.
