Caleb Moore has sadly passed away in hospital after crashing in the Snowmobile Freestyle competition this past weekend at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado. The crash occurred when Moore was attempting a backflip and caught his snowmobile skis on the knuckle of the massive freestyle jump throwing him off his the snowmobile and having it roll over him across the landing. Though first-aid officials helped Moore walk off the course, he was admitted into the hospital after experiencing concussion symptoms. He was later transferred to a hospital in Grand Junction where he underwent surgery for bleeding around his heart. Moore was pronounced dead today likely due to brain injury and other health complications.

This is the first death resulting from an Winter X Games accident and is very sad news for anyone involved in the actions sports industry.

Caleb will be remembered as a key member in the snowmobiling community. He helped to push the sport and died doing what he loved.
