REVELSTOKE CONDITIONS TODAY:

– 9cms (3.5”) in the past 24 hours and 30cms (12”) in the past 48 hours

– DEEP SPOTS… here and there and everywhere

– Sun was almost shining through a high overcast all day

– Good visibility today

– Wind pressed, dense snow up high on the front side of the mountain today (kinda tricky stuff)

– North Bowl was blown in and skiing great with quality snow in all zones

– Lower down on the mountain you could feel the bottom, but everything was covered in about 4” (10cms) of new snow and was damn fun

WHERE THE SKIING WAS BEST TODAY:

– North Bowl and Gracias Ridge were high quality with dry snow and enough powder to huck the many cool features in those zones

– Devil’s Club from the top of the Stoke Chair to the mid-station of the Gondy laps were sweet with powder and pow-moguls for 5,000 vertical feet

– “Kill the Banker” (right under the gondola) looked good and I heard a bro say “Kill the Banker was sick last run”…

– Gracias Ridge in North Bowl was pillowy, deep, and fun

– Clouds rolled in and a new storm started up the snow machine at about 2:30pm and it’s snow currently at 9:30pm

– Once again, tomorrow is gonna be good with 15-20cms forecasted tonight

CROWD FACTOR:

– There was an impressively enormous line this morning for the gondola (the only lower mountain lift).  It stretched over a quarter mile and was extremely civilized due to the extreme politeness of Cañadians.  People in the front of the line got here about 6:40am and the chair opened at 8:30am.

– Lines were long on the Stoke chair for the first 3 runs, then it went back to normal and there weren’t lines anywhere on the mountain by 11am

– Due to the larger amount of people today, the mountain got skied up pretty quick, but stayed fun until closing

“Kill the Banker” was open and rockin’ today

OVERALL:

– It was a banner day with “almost sun” and good visibility;  neither of which have been around the past 2 days

– There were some deep spots with great snow where the wind deposited the snow

– Powder moguls for 5,000 feet down the front side doesn’t get old

– Good sweet potato soup at the top of the Gondola

North Bowl skied great today in the brilliant B.C. sunlight
