MT. BAKER RE-OPENS TODAY

With 98 inches of snow in the past six days, storm conditions have been intense, to say the least. The DOT has been working around the clock to clear Highway 542 of the 100+ trees that fell, and the highway is scheduled to be open Friday evening. For complete details go to the snow report page at mtbaker.us.

The highway is in great shape and we are back in action! The big storm cycle this past week brought more than 100 inches of snowfall to Mt. Baker in the past 7 days! And now, forecasts are calling for a return to more normal and settled weather, with light snow showers expected on Saturday and Sunday with nice cold temperatures and snow levels around 1,000 feet. This should make for some beautiful snow conditions this weekend!

Note that we do have a deep snow advisory in effect today for the ungroomed areas. Remember to keep your partner in sight and use deep snow/ tree well precautions. Check deepsnowsafety.org for more info.

Both base areas will be open today and all instruction programs and standard rentals will be out of the upper Heather Meadows base area.

You can take care of some Holiday shopping up here by swinging through our retail shop for unique Baker items or the admin office for Gift Lift Tickets for the mountain enthusiasts on your list! Or purchase online by clicking the link on the right.
