Yesterday afternoon at around 2:30pm an avalanche at Crystal Mountain Ski Resort buried a woman for more than 10 minutes. The avalanche swept the woman into a tree well where she was recovered by fellow skiers and ski patrol. The woman was skiing without a beacon but was found alive thanks to the help of a large search party of skiers and ski patrolers. The young woman was reported to be in good shape after the slide and skied down on her own.
It has been snow hard at Crystal Mountain since Sunday with almost 6 feet of snow in the past week.
