Switzerland based company Zai is a ski and golf club manufacturing company that specializes in using new and hybrid materials in their skis. Their latest and greatest ski, dubbed the Laisa features Double Tip (DT) Technology. The Laisa is also manufactured using Zaiira®, a proprietary material that includes carbon fiber and thermoplastic. So here’s the kicker, they only cost $5,082.00!

Via Zai’s website:

“The DT (double tip) tip geometry (invented by zai) increases performance and creates a new experience. The narrow front tip glides through deep snow with little resistance and gently supports the second tip in creating uplift in the right place. laisa’s smoothness is constant, even on crust, as neither of the two tips can grip inadvertently.

Materials: Vulcanised natural rubber. zaiìra®. UD (unidirectional) endless carbon fibres applied in seven different directions. Bonded cedarwood slats (branchless). Dyneema®. Nano high-speed racing surfacing. HRC38 steel edges.”

So if you have some extra cash laying around in your Swiss bank account, pop over to Zai.ch to grab yourself a pair.
