skiing and snowboarding the new snow on friday the 13th
Best snow of the Season? Watch the video and you be the Judge.

MAMMOTH CONDITIONS VIDEO | Was today the best pow day of the season? As DEEP and light as the snow was one could certainly make a very strong case.

On storm days like today the upper mountain is not an option. As a result, we find ways to make due with the short, low-angle pitches on the lower mountain. If the new snow is at all heavy this can be a “sluggish” affair. Well, that was not the case today. Low angle or not, thanks to the extra-fluffy premium white, chilly face shots were a-plenty. To say the least, today was a treat.

Surprising too is how this storm came through. Snow was flying all day yesterday, yet hardly anything was accumulating in town. So when did the white finally start to stack up? Really not until about 6am this morning – and boy did it stack up fast! Honestly, today alone anywhere from 1-2’ feet of fresh fell on the hill.

So, I don’t really have photos to share from today… Yet I do believe the above GoPro clips will give you a good sense of what conditions were like. Couldn’t make it up to partake in the latest Mammoth powder feast? I’d be lying if I told you that you weren’t missing out.
