Tahoe will be getting a small, windy storm tonight and tomorrow.  Up to 100 mph winds and 2-4 inches of snow.

The image on the left shows a satellite water vapor image with the position of a cold front and upper level trough. A cold front will move quickly across the Sierra and western Nevada tonight through Wednesday morning. Winds will increase ahead of this front, with gusts up to 50 mph along the Sierra Front of western Nevada (including Reno-Carson City vicinity) and Mono County. Ridge gusts between 80 and 100 mph are expected over the Sierra ridges late tonight.This front will also bring a short period of snow to the Lake Tahoe basin and portions of northeast California tonight, with a few inches of snow accumulation possible. Brisk winds and much cooler temperatures are expected on Wednesday with wind chills in the 30s, while Thursday will be the coldest day this week with highs in the 40s for much of western Nevada and 30s in the Sierra Valleys. Isolated to scattered snow showers are possible Wednesday through Thursday, mainly north of Highway 50.
