I guess they upped the snow totals, huh?  5 feet sounds nice.

LOW PRESSURE OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC WILL DIRECT ABUNDANT MOISTURE INTO THE SIERRA TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. THIS WILL BRING SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION TO THE NORTHERN SIERRA AND NORTHEAST CALIFORNIA. THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS WILL OCCUR ALONG AND WEST OF HIGHWAY 89 FROM THE LAKE TAHOE BASIN NORTH TO LASSEN COUNTY.

AT THIS TIME…4 TO 6 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION IS LIKELY…WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE THROUGH FRIDAY. AS SNOW LEVELS RISE TO 6500 TO 8000 FEET BY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY…THE HIGHEST SNOWFALL TOTALS WILL OCCUR ABOVE 7500 TO 8000 FEET NEAR THE NORTHERN SIERRA CREST WHERE

5 OR MORE FEET OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH FRIDAY.

FOR THE LAKE TAHOE BASIN…RAIN WILL OCCUR AT LAKE LEVEL FOR THE MID WEEK PERIOD BEFORE CHANGING BACK TO SNOW LATE FRIDAY. FOR WESTERN NEVADA…

GUSTY WINDS OF 45 TO 55 MPHWILL BE THE MAIN IMPACT THIS WEEK WITH HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE LATE THURSDAY AND FRIDAY ALONG A COLD FRONT. SNOW LEVELS SHOULD FALL TO THE VALLEY FLOORS BY FRIDAY NIGHT…BUT ONLY LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE AT THIS TIME.

 

 Well, kinda looks like a whole buncha rain.  Like, a WHOLE BUNCHA rain.  But, Granite Chief will be good…right?
