I first met Benny in 2007 when we both were rookie river guides on the Truckee river in Tahoe.  In life, you want to be around people who make you feel good.  Benny was one of those people who always made you feel good about yourself and was unrelenting with his smile.  The guy was pretty stoked to do most anything and he had the best hair.  I was always jealous of that perfect, curly, dark hair.  We all miss you Benny.  Thanks for the great adventures that you shared with us.  We won’t forget them.

Here is an excerpt from a great article from the Sierra Sun about our friend Benny.

“OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. — Whether he was charging down a powder-blanketed backcountry ski run, mastering a complex rock climb or simply having that wonderful ability to make people laugh, Benjamin Brackett will be remembered as an amazing person who held an infectious and perhaps unparalleled spirit for life and adventure in the Sierra Nevada.” – SierraSun.com

“He just flowed down the mountain in such a smooth way. He had such beautiful, beautiful turns — he was one of the prettiest skiers I’ve ever seen,” recalled friend Jon Rockwood. “He was a professional, and he had a great level of respect and knowledge for the mountain. He wasn’t a daredevil or anything like that. He was a pro.” – SierraSun.com
