If you live somewhere where there is no snow, little snow, or the conditions just suck (ie most all of the Western USA and East Coast), then this offer of free skiing in British Colombia, where they are having a huge season, should be tempting.

Red Mountain in Rossland, British Colombia, is offering Free Skiing & Riding to all citizens of the USA for the next 30 days.

Here’s the catch:  “U.S. residents who book through Red Mountain Resort lodging using the booking code “RedsGotSnow” or by phone at (877) 969-SNOW (7669) will receive free passes for as many days as they are staying at the resort.”

“This offering is a direct response to the poor snow conditions across the U.S. this season and we’re excited to do something that no other ski resort in North America is doing – free passes for all U.S. residents.  Between the low direct airfares and the free passes, we’re making an extremely attractive offering to those who haven’t experienced Canadian skiing and Canadian hospitality.” – – Howard Katkov, president and CEO of Red Mountain Resort.

If you haven’t been able to figure out a reason to get out of the miserable Western USA/Northeast USA dryness and get some good B.C. lovin’, you’ve got it figured out now.

“Despite the catastrophic snowfall conditions throughout the resort regions of the California Sierras, Lake Tahoe, Utah, Colorado, and other East Coast resorts, Red Mountain is continuing to deliver the goods – snow.” – Howard Katkov, president and CEO of Red Mountain Resort.

Red Mountain Conditions:

– 45 inch snowpack at mid-mountain

– 83 inches of snowfall this season

– 9 inches in the last 7 days

– All 4 major chairs open

– All terrain is open

– 3,000 vertical feet

– 1,685 acres of terrain in-bounds with 2,500 acres of sidecountry terrain available

– Currently 18 F with a high of 19 F.  Red will not get above 25 F in the next 7 days

– Forecast is dry this week, but it’ll definitely snow in the next 30 days
