“That he’s still alive.” – John Long (Yosemite Valley rock climbing pioneer)

Alex Honnold is a 26 year old rock climber from Sacramento, CA that is not into using ropes.  He’s a true free soloist and he’s damn good at it.  Alex was the first ever to free solo the northwest face of Half Dome.  In this video he does the first ever free solos of The Pheonix,  the north face of Sentinel.  Alex shines bright in Yosemite Valley and people have noticed.

Do you guys think Alex is nuts?  or is he the most badass climber in climbing history?
