Cold temps in Tahoe gave Boreal the chance to fire up the snow guns this past Tuesday, October 25th.  They are gunnin’ hard for getting a run covered and opening by, maybe, Friday.

Boreal is always the first California ski resort to open each fall.  This year doesn’t look like it’ll be an exception.

The first California ski resort to annually run its lifts first each year is Boreal. It appears that won’t change this year withBoreal spokesman Jon Slaughter saying Wednesday morning that he believes the resort may open this Friday. – examiner.com

Last season Boreal opened on October 29th.

“Boreal is shooting for another early opening, with Halloween always being the target. Our goal is to always get guests on the hill early in the season – it’s what we are known for.”  – Jon Slaughter Boreal Spokesman.

At 7,777 feet:

– Wednesday low = 30F

– Thursday low = 35F

– Friday low = 35F

– Saturday low = 35F

Regardless of snow making conditions, Boreal will be making as much snow as possible and will be opening as soon as possible.

Do you think they’ll be able to pull it off and get open this weekend?  We hope they do.  We’re pullin’ for ya Boreal.
