On Wednesday, September 07, 2011 a plane crashed in Russia killing all but one of the 45 people on board.ย  The plane was unfortunatelyย  carrying one of Russia’s topย KHL hockey teams. Among the the dead were many former NHL players including formerย Vancouver Canuck Pavol Demitra.ย  The plane crashed on take off andย plummetedย into a river about 250 km (150 miles) north of Moscow.ย  The crash was believed to be cause either by faulty equipment or by pilot error.
