The Class V rapid Rigor Mortis is located in the Black Rock section of Clear Creek (about 9.3 miles down) and is the final drop in the Black Rock Section. Rigamortis is a tight technical run, to be honest most boaters portage around the rapid. The river takes a huge drip into a grotto and shortly after the kayaker is met with two large holes and strong hydraulic currents. Highway 6 provides easy access and easy scouting. This run very unfriendly to swimmers as ledges and overhangs can trap you (undercut in wall on river left)

Clear Creek forms near Idaho Springs, Colorado through Golden to its confluence with the South Platte River in Denver.
