It is kind of sad.  People are just getting into the swing of summer.   Everyone is feeling on top of their summer activities, the snow is off all the bike trails, and the BBQ techniques are really honed in.  Unfortunately, it is looking like summer is starting to taper off.  The main sign this week, is the end of the summer music.  Music on Main, Concert on the Commons and the Targhee festivals are all coming to an end this week.  So if you have been wanting to partake in any of these, this weekend is your last chance.  Here are some of the events this weekend.

Music on Main City Park, Victor Thursday 6pm

The final Music on Main will not be a disappointment.  Keeping up with the community feel and good music, this will be a sweet way to spend your Thursday night.  Kristy Kruger and friends will be opening for Paul Thorne.  It may be a good week to head over early.  The opening show could be a quality one.  If you want to let loose on the last event and frequent the beer tent, START bus will be more than happy to take you back over the pass.  As aways the music is free.

Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival Grand Targhee Resort Friday-Sunday

The Bluegrass Festival is not a bad way to spend the weekend.  It is a must see if you are one of those in town that cannot get enough of this music.  The show starts on 4pm Friday evening and ends Sunday evening at the Trap Bar.  There are 17 bands total with the main shows being Infamous Stringbusters, Yonder Mountain Sting Band, and Railroad Earth.  For all three days is is $135, $40 for Friday, $55 Saturday and $45 on Sunday.   There is camping offered and there are other lodging options on their website.

Hoback Volunteer Firefighters BBQ Fundraiser Snake River Sporting Club, 12-4pm Saturday

If you have recovered from all that fried chicken at the Wilson fire department’s fundraiser, it is time to help out the fire fighters in Hoback.  This time it is BBQ Ribs.  For 10 bucks one can get uncomfortably full and help out everyone in Hoback.  Only $6 for kids 6-12 and free for those younger it will be a great outing for all ages.  Since you are going to be down there, might as well make a day of it and hit the Snake too.

Breakestra Concert on the Commons, Teton Village, 4pm Sunday

Looks like Concert on the Commons is going out with a bang.  Breakestra will provide some sweet sounds with their uptempo funk.  This free show will perfect way to round out the weekend.  The Village is really laid back and there is plenty of room to get your groove on.
