With summer in full swing, there’s more to do in Jackson than you can shake a stick at. Beyond the normal activities- biking, climbing, fishing, camping, skiing, etc– the highlight of the weekend is the Teton County Fair. From Figure 8 races to reptile shows, the Teton County Fair has something for just about everybody. This weekend is truly a “choose your own adventure” weekend in Jackson.

LETTUCE, TETON COUNTY FAIR, FRIDAY 8PM (DOORS 6PM); $23

Check out the funk/soul music style of Lettuce, out of New York, NY. Sure, funk/soul isn’t the first music genre that comes to mind when you think country fair, but they’re sure to entertain. So go get your swerve on in your cowboy boots.

THE ORBIT GROUP, MANGY MOOSE, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY 9:30PM; $7

To cheap/drunk to make it into town from the village for Lettuce on Friday night? Or need some live music for Saturday night? Well look no further than The Orbit Group at the Moose in Teton Vilage. From SLC, the self-proclaimed “finest, most innovative musicians, composers, and entertainers to take the stage,” the group has to be be worth the $7 cover.

(80s) DJ JAY WOODEN, TOWN SQUARE TAVERN, SATURDAY10PM

What could be more debaucherous than an 80s DJ at the Tavern. Rock out to your favorite tunes from the 80s as some drunk southern girl/guy tries to dance/pick a fight with you. If you’re looking for the rowdy crowd on Saturday night, look no further than the tavern.

FIGURE 8 RACES, TETON COUNTY FAIR, 7PM

Perhaps the highlight of the entire fair, the Figure 8 races are the closing act of the Teton County Fair. The demo-derby inspired event puts drivers against one another racing in- you guessed it- figure 8s. Check out the carnage, the mud, and, if you’re lucky (or unlucky) a naked guy streaking across the fairgrounds.
