We’ve come a long way since July 4th, 1776. Hell, we’ve come a long way since July 20th, 1969 (moon landing, see below). But, that date is still my single favorite date in American history. Squaw Valley USA – 9:15pm – Free – Squaw is really pulling the weight with events this weekend:

Truckee – Dusk – $6/person (advance only call 530-582-7720)  – West End Beach on Donner Lake

Incline Village, NV – 9:30pm – Free – Incline Beach – Red, White, & Blue Festival all weekend from July 1-4 with opening ceremony, patriotic chalk drawing contest, doggie dress-up contest, beer  & brat tasting, brunch with Shakespeare, & a frecracker trail trek.
