High Camp Pool and Spa & The Palisades all looking very inviting.  June 27th, 2011.

Squaw is looking fat right now. We just got these photos from Squaw’s Ubercam and they are telling the tale of a killer 4th of July ski weekend to come.

Check out the very fresh ski tracks in National Chute on The Palisades, Headwall, Granite Chief, and Siberia.

Squaw is only going to allow hiking in Emigrant, Headwall, and Cornice II areas. We’ve got photos of these zones below as well as Granite Chief, which won’t be open to hiking.

The Siberia Ski Lift has been announced as scheduled for this weekend, which is a big improvement.

Squaw Valley’s Palisades today, June 27th, 2011.  Ski tracks down National Chute.

Unofficial is forecasting damn fun skiing this 4th of July weekend as we have so much snow, Siberia is running, and the pool and hot tub will be waiting for ya. Before the announcement of Siberia, it may have been a better call to go to Alpine because they’ll have the summit chair running.  Once again, Squaw stepped up, decided not to be outdone by Alpine and got the top of their mountain open. We applaud this behavior Squaw.

The forecast for this weekend is for sun, highs in the lower 80s, and lows in the 40s. If you’re going skiing, get out there right at opening, ski for a coupla hours, get in the pool, meet some people, and some a cocktails.  It’s gonna be a great 4th.
