On the other hand there are only 17 days of “official” winter left before the first day of spring. But chances are if you visit Unofficial Whistler dot com you don’t pay any attention to the seasons just the snow report. Anyway enjoy the pow and the scheduled sun for this weekend.

Wednesday, MAR 9- Carlos Del Junco and the Blues Mongrels Band. Millennium Place. 8pm. The seven time winner of the Canadian Maple Blues Harmonica Players of the year award comes to Whistler. Word on the streets of Whistler (more like the main strip, not a street at all) is that, “Carlos del Junco’s harmonica is better than Bob Dylan’s”, OHHH. Carlos even says, “Of their [Bob Dylan and Neil Young] generation there aren’t many that come close, but when it comes to the harmonica, in my opinion they’re terrible harmonica players”

– This is versatile playing that transcends what pop music fans will expect from the instrument. He makes the harmonica sound like the Saxophone or electric guitar. He’ll be performing songs from his new album, sometimes sounding like it comes straight out da Big Easy. He will also play some from his solo album “Mojo” which is about at trippy as a harmonica can probably get. So do you really want to here this Carlos guy play this little thing for three hours? and the answer is YES. Tickets are $24 for adults, and $21 for students. Tickets available at Millennium Place. But for now check out Carlos’ website: HERE
