Well for starters it’s the last week In February and word from the Weather gods is snow is on the way. Check out the weather forecast HERE. As March approaches we begin to get the sense of “spring” in the atmosphere. But today was -27c at the peak so maybe we still have some winter left.

Saturday-Sunday, FEB 26, 27- Kokanee Freeride Apres. GLC and Merlin’s Come and enjoy a Kokanee, (happens to be the official beer of Whistler Blackcomb, WHO KNEW), at the imfamous Kokanee après series. Watch local ledgends the harifarmers. GLC on Feb 26 and Merlin’s on Feb 27.

Saturday, FEB 26- WHISTLER MASER PLAN! Whistler Conference Center. 3-6pm. The presentation is at 3:15pm. Ministry of Natural Resource Operations, Resort Development Branch, has received draft Master Plan updates for Whistler Blackcomb ski resort, Whistler, BC. A Public Open House has been scheduled on the date below, to review the Master Plans and ask questions about the proposal. The draft Master Plan updates are available for review online but the link they gave me didn’t work. Call 604.307.5699 for information.

Friday, FEB 25- Party at the Whistler Brewery Tap House. 4-7pm. Thirsty? Then come by the Whistler Tap House and grab a drink. Also say hi to Chad and Ian of Ruckus Deluxe because they will be performing.

Friday, Saturday, FEB 25, 26- Rule of the Baton. Whistler Conference Center. Doors at 8pm, Starts at 9. These guys are not like any marching band you saw in high school. A gripping live performance. Check them out this weekend.

Friday, FEB 25- Wassabi Collective. GLC. The Nelson based quintet is on tour with their latest album, “Get It”. Tickets for the snow at the GLC are $15. Check out more wassabi info on their website here

Friday, FEB 25- JT James. Maxx Fish. 9pm. Things often get wild with Roxy and RAW radio personality JT James playing a great mix of the top 40 and R&B. Dance Dance

Saturday, FEB 26- Papa Josh. Fifty-Two 80 Bistro and Bar (in the Four Seasons). 5-8pm.  Papa Josh will amaze your ears with a diverse mix of Funk, Jazz, R&B and Soul Grooves. PJ effortlessly plays; Laying down bass lines guitar melodies percussions and vocals to create one funky sound.

Tuesday, MAR 1- SAY RABBIT RABBIT. When you wake up. Don’t forget to say rabbit rabbit when you wake up for good luck. Wonder why we say that? Well here is what the first part of what Wikipedia says: “Rabbit rabbit” is a common British superstition. Friday, MARCH 4- The Stanley Cup is Coming To Whistler. Scoitabank. 3-7pm. Capture your moment with the Stanley Cup. The Stanley cup and a historical hockey exhibit are coming to the Whistler Community. Come Early –Don’t miss your chance to be seen with Lord Stanley’s cup. SPACE IS LIMITED. I imagine that the Stanley Cup in Canada would be like a moths on a light. Just a flood of Canucks. Oh boy.  First 500 people will have their photo taken professionally with the Stanley cup for free.
