Day one of the Snowbasin on snow demo was likely not the most productive demo day of all time. Wind had all the lifts closed except for two little chairs way down at the bottom of the hill. It turned into a mostly social event when one of those two chairs also closed due to wind leaving us with…thats right one chair. The snow was firm and fast with a little wind buff hiding here and there in the trees. The light was really bad and I blew up huge on a groomer with an invisible roller on it. The skiing experience overall was not fantastic..

There are loads of companies that had rad looking product to demo. I tried the new Moment Bibby Pro in a 196cm. It was a real beast. I also got to check out the Icelantic Keeper (189cm) and the 4front Wrenagade (186cm). It is tough to say a ton about any of these new boards since there was no powder and very limited terrain open. I can say that the Bibby was surprisingly easy to turn considering its length and girth.

One of the stars of the show was the new Oakley Airbrake. The newest goggle from Oakley sports a new rigid nose shape that allows for better breathing and a quick release system for the lens that takes care of all the issues the Crowbar had with changeability. Look for them to drop in the summer of 2011.
