After the bitter cold of the last 3 days it was on the warm side at Snowbird today. The temps were hanging around 30 and the winds were light. It looks like the heavy wind from yesterday blew a lot of the nice 3% density snow that we got on Tuesday night to Colorado. I am sure they can use it, so I guess it’s like donating to charity.

The snow out there was fast and for the most part chalky. There were still significant patches of that lovely ice crust here and there, especially on steeper terrain. (Top of Baldy, Spaghetti Chute @ Tower 3) Silver Fox was relatively bump free until the late afternoon. People traversing off the Peruvian chair put an end to that by about 2:30pm…..Bummer.

Trams were going up full, but there was no wait. Chairs were totally empty and I was tempted to check out Gad 2 but did not have time to get over there. Ok, I did have the time but I rarely ride chairs on flat light no pow days. Call me a Tram Snob….because I am. Why ski less vert on lifts that take longer?
