It’s Friday again and, truth be told, I can’t recommend anything but good night’s sleep because the shredding is going to be awesome. However, for those of you that enjoy face shots off the hill as much as on the hill, there’s plenty to do. Just make sure you drag your hungover ass to the hill by 10:00. And no, free parking after one isn’t a good excuse for sleeping in (even if you park in one-hour parking at noon and then move your car). After all, snow like this doesn’t last forever.
Friday January 21st- Five Alarm Funk. Timberline Bar (Victor). 10PM. 10 Bucks. Okay, I won’t lie, I had a roomate I disliked my freshmen year of college that liked funk- a lot. Since then I’ve written off the entire genre of music and refuse to listen to it on principal. But, these guys should put on a pretty good show- worth the drive “over the hill.”
Friday and Saturday- Moose Hockey vs. Cleavland. Snow King Center. 7PM. 8 Bones. Are you like me and are totally pissed off that Drew Carry is destroying Bob Barker’s legacy with his half-assed antics on the price is right and you want to vent by rooting against his hometown of Cleavland. No? Well, do you like drinking beer and watching good hockey?
Saturday January 22nd- Red Cross Steak and Lobster Dinner. The Elks Lodge. 6:30PM. 20 Big Ones. I eye that stupid lobster cage at Albertson’s every time I walk by. Regardless of the card price of $19.99/lb, it’s way out of my price range. But, $20 for steak and lobster, is right up my ally while supporting a good cause.

Ongoing– Wind River Casino, Riverton WY. Holly sh&t I just realized there’s a casino three hours from Jackson. Grab your car, your cash for rent, and hit the road. Poker, slots, blackjack- Wind River Casino has it all. Just think, this time next week you could have a story that starts, “So, it was 3AM and I was down to my last ten bucks at the Wind River Casino and…”
Sunday, January 23rd- “Kung Fu Panda” in HD. Center for the Arts. 3PM. 5 Smakaroos. Sometimes, after tying one on for three days, you just need to see a giant animated panda.
