After a good nights sleep it was an early 6:30am alarm clock that got us heading to the hill to check out Day 1 of the Canadian Freeskiing Championships here in Revelstoke, BC.  It had snowed a few inches again last night after about 4 feet in the last 36 hours. We are all pretty wrecked from 4 days of now stop powder skiing on a hill with over a mile of vert to rage on.

Athletes were eager to inspect this morning and I used my newly acquired Media pass to ride along and check out the conditions. All of North Bowl was socked in with a super thick cloud/ fog layer. I watched some skiers poke around on some really rowdy looking lines, which got me fired up to see this event go off.  Unfortunately, the cloud did not lift and MSI Competition Director Brian Barlow called the event off at 11:00am.

We had already skied a couple runs in the trees during the morning and now that the event was pushed over to tomorrow it was time to get some more. The Ripper Chair was providing us with more powder and gladed pillow yumminess than we could handle and most riders called it a day by around 1:00pm. The forecast is looking like maybe some sun tomorrow. It would be great to ski this place with a little light, I am tired of yellow lenses and surprise cat tracks.
