On Sunday my brother and I made the two hour drive from Telluride to Silverton and it was well worth it. It was extra sweet because Telluride only received seven inches from the last storm and Silverton received 28. Needless to say, it was deep. With the cold temperatures, really cold temperatures (-18 driving into the resort at 10am) it truly was bottomless powder. I also lucked out because my friend Pete Connolly, aka: Sneaky Pete, Aka: Pedro is a guide at Silverton and he was able to show my brother and I all the secret stashes. Pete is an excellent skier and if you want to do a guided trip at Silverton Pete is your guy. AND Silverton has the cheapest heli drops in the country. $159 for one drop or $1000 for the day. Really, you won’t beat that anywhere.
