After getting the early morning text about LCC being closed until at least noon it was time for evasive action. I kicked my cell phone into overdrive and got us Unofficially set up to ride Solitude today. So instead of sitting at home and crying like some depressed loser we headed up to Solitude and had a sick day! (Sorry the GoPro was aimed a little low today…)

Our luck really changed up there, we hit just about every opening perfect and got some great shots. We caught Powderhorn just as it opened, got first tracks on Middle Mountain and caught one of the first 15 chairs on Summit.  It was cold, but who cares when you are killing powder all day!

The snow was DEEP! Solitude is reporting 27″ in the last 24 hours and I think they could be a little low. It was a great day to test out the knees on some drops with flat landings. It seems like they still work… Looks like tomorrow could be epic again in the Cottonwood Canyons. Snowbird here I come!

Special thanks to Solitude, Nick Como and Tracy Von Harten.
