A Utah Avalanche Center member was out watching snowmobilers playing around in Major Evans Gulch in American Fork Canyon when he caught a this incident on camera.

According to WGN News the filmer actually anticipated that an avalanche was about to happen given the slope and pulled out their phone to film it before it started.

“When this type of avalanche happens, it happens across the whole slope, above you to the side of you, below you and it’s really hard to escape.” –Mark Staples

The avalanche ended up being three feet deep and 500 feet wide. No one was injured in the slide.
