It’s no secret that many of Colorado’s visiting skiers are happy to take some tokes before making turns on one of the rocky mountain state’s 28 ski areas. However, a new piece of legislation may allow visiting skiers to buy local amounts of weed reports the Denver Post.

As of today, out-of-state skiers are being kept to a quarter of an ounce limit but a newly proposed policy would allow non residents to purchase up to an ounce of the sticky icky. Initially, the quarter limit was to prevent out of staters from bringing weed back to their not so pot friendly home states. However, policy makers are more concerned with illegal grow operations, which account for the majority of marijuana being sent out-of-state.

So far, Colorado’s house of representatives has approved the removal of resident vs. non-resident purchasing limits and now the legislation awaits approval by the state senate.
