Maybe it’s real estate tycoon egos or maybe it’s climate change but it’s clear that indoor skiing is on the rise.

First the United Arab Emirate Dubai announced it would be building the longest indoor ski slope in the world and now, New Jersey wants a taste of limelight.

In doing so, plans for a new ‘mega mall’ include the first indoor ski slope in the Western Hemisphere!

According to the globalgrind.com, a $5 billion dollar project, titled “American Dream Meadowlands” is underway in New Jersey. As if the Mall of America’s indoor roller coasters weren’t enough, the new ‘mega mall’ will feature an 12 story ski slope along with a gondola that offers views of the Manhattan skyline.

The ski slope is projected to be approximately 800 ft and offer guests the ability to ski, snowboard, or tube. So in between shopping at the 400+ retailers within the mall, shoppers will be able to release some Christmas-induced stress by shredding the indoor ski slope.

Also, according to the graphic, the mall will be within walking distance of the Meadowlands Stadium, so catching a Giants or Jets game after shopping will become a real possibility.

AMERICA!
