Nothing like seeing a guy overcoming a injury and coming out stronger on the other side…

“Former U.S. Marine Daniel Riley skis at Vail at least once a month—which is impressive for someone who lives in San Diego. Even more remarkable? The fact that Riley has no legs. The victim of an IED explosion in Afghanistan that took both his limbs, Riley faced daunting medical rehabilitation. But as soon as he hit the slopes with the Vail Veterans Program in 2012, he was hooked. Riley learned to carve turns on the trails of Vail on a sit-ski designed for those without use of their legs. Today, he couldn’t be happier than when he’s schussing through Vail’s massive terrain, from wide-open bowls to corduroy groomers to terrain parks. “I learned how to ski here, and skiing changed the way I live,” Riley says. “Vail was an important part of defining how I recovered from my injuries in Afghanistan. Every day I come to Vail, I leave happy.” Vail is where it all began for Daniel Riley. What’s your mountain?”
