A season full of massive snowfall helped France retain its crown as the world’s top skiing destination.

Figures published Thursday by DSF (Domaines Skiables de France) showed that France ski resorts received 57.9 million skier visites over the 2012-13 season, a rise of 4.9 percent on the previous season.

The United States, the traditional holder of the top position, came in second with 56.9 million skier days, a rise of 11.7 per cent.
