The Grand Canyon

The Last of The Great Unknown is a documentary of the trials and tribulations one must face to explore the innumerable remote slot canyons of The Grand Canyon.ย  In the 143 years since John Wesley Powell first navigated The Grand Canyon in 1869, it has become a mecca for tourists and a playground for the adventurous.ย  Throughout those years almost all of “The Great Unknown” has been explored and mapped, but not all of it.ย  The leader of these numerous expeditions to finish exploring the canyon, Rich Rudow, has spent 500 days walking 5,000 miles and has 70 first descents in the canyons slots to his name so far.

“You cannot see the Grand Canyon in a single view… To see it, you have to toil from month to month, through its labyrinths.” – John Wesley Powell, 1869

The film is set to debut at this years 5Point Film Festival in Carbondale, Colorado.
