Less than 30 days until ski season starts at Squaw Valley on November 23rd. Right now, there ain’t no snow no how. But, we’ve got 1 full lunar cycle to make it right. As we learned last year, we just need one big spinner from the Gulf of Alaska to drop 5 feet of pow in two days to make opening day an insta-pow day.
Squaw got 22” of fresh snow on October 6th, 2011. Now, there ain’t nothin’ left. But, it’s cool, crisp, colored, and gorgeous here. Fall is winter’s foreplay; teasing us with many of the pieces of winter without giving up the goods. La Niña will be here soon enough to give it all up…
