A major new luxury ski resort in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, has secured $482.5 million in financing as construction moves forward on The Stockman, Auberge Collection. Newmark announced Wednesday that it arranged the loan on behalf of Stockman Development LLC, led by Marquee Development. The financing was provided by GoldenTree Asset Management.

The Stockman Breaks Ground in Steamboat Springs

The Stockman recently broke ground at the base of Steamboat Ski Resort and is planned as an ultra-luxury ski-in, ski-out development. The project will feature 95 luxury branded residences alongside a 59-key hotel operated under Auberge Resorts Collection. OZ Architecture is leading the building design, while Nunzio Marc DeSantis Architects is handling the interiors. Berkshire Hathaway is leading residential sales efforts.

The development is expected to offer direct access to the mountain and a range of high-end amenities. Planned features include spa and fitness facilities, a swimming pool, multiple food and beverage options, an owners’ lounge, dedicated ski storage and private terraces.

The design is intended to incorporate Steamboat Springs’ Western heritage while adding contemporary amenities and five-star hospitality.

Major Investment at Steamboat Ski Resort

The Stockman is being developed as part of the continued transformation of Steamboat Springs into a major year-round mountain destination. The project is located directly at the base of Steamboat Ski Resort, giving residents and hotel guests access to skiing during the winter as well as hiking, mountain biking and fishing during the warmer months.

The development follows Alterra Mountain Company’s $250 million Full Steam Ahead investment program at Steamboat Resort. That investment has funded major improvements across the mountain and base area.

The Stockman is expected to add another significant luxury lodging and residential component to the resort’s base area as Steamboat continues to attract visitors and real estate investment. Construction is now moving forward with the newly arranged financing providing substantial funding for the project’s development.
