Danny MacAskill took a pedal down memory lane in his home town of Edinburgh revisiting filming locations from his legendary breakout 2009 street trials video “Inspired Bicycles – Danny MacAskill.”
Tag along with Danny and Matt Stephens as they tour around various spots from his seminal film project including Hunter Square, Bristol Square, George Square, The Meadows, and the ultra famous spiky fence which arguably single-handedly shot Danny into international superstardom.
Very cool to get Danny’s perspective on the single minded dedication and technical precision required to conquer some of the obstacles that set his video apart from the crowd. He has since gone on to create a library of viral videos that have been seen worldwide but it started out with a single film project which hit YouTube 16 year ago.
Inspired Bicycles – Danny MacAskill April 2009
Filmed over the period of a few months in and around Edinburgh by Dave Sowerby, this video of Inspired Bicycles team rider Danny MacAskill features probably the best collection of street/street trials riding ever seen. There’s some huge riding, but also some of the most technically difficult and imaginative lines you will ever see. Without a doubt, this video pushes the envelope of what is perceived as possible on a trials bike.
