Bobcats are a native species in California, found in diverse habitats throughout most of the state. They’re found in chaparral vegetation types, the brushy stages of low and mid-elevation conifer, oak, pinyon-juniper woodlands and forests, and riparian and desert environments, though they generally prefer areas with dense brush cover.
These cats typically avoid people, staying the most active at night and during twilight hours. However it isn’t uncommon to spot bobcats during the day looking for some food, exploring their nearby area, or, like this guy spotted on a feature at California’s SkyPark Bike Park, enjoying a nap in the sun.
SkyPark is no stranger to wildlife, with bears and other animals being spotted on the trails. Of course given that most creatures are shy and skittish, they usually get off the trails once bikers come around.
While mountain biking is SkyPark‘s primary activity, visitors can enjoy everything from ziplines to pedal cars, roller blading, archery, and so much more. Day passes are available for $49 a day for adults and $39 a day for children.
