Late last month, professional skateboarder Sandro Dias claimed the world record for the highest skateboard drop in history. Working with Red Bull, they built the world’s largest skate ramp on the side of the Centro Administrativo Fernando Ferrari in Brazil, a building known for its unique ramp-like shape.
He started the attempt at 55 meters, or around 180 feet, before working his way up to the world record at 70 meters, or just around 230 feet. The video filmed from the ground is pretty impressive, but his point of view takes things to a new level.
Of course we’ll never know exactly what it looked or felt like from his point of view, as cameras tend to distort height and angles a bit, but it’s nonetheless absolutely terrifying to see.
