According to Metro, the accident, which occurred last month, left around 10 people injured. Some individuals fell into the trees while others dropped into the 22-foot deep Lake Trek. At the same time, 13 people were left dangling awaiting rescue from emergency services. All injured were taken to a nearby hospital with one in a serious condition.

The chairlift was originally built in 1968 to take visitors to a local scenic viewing point. The preliminary cause of the accident is likely the wear and tear of cables, though a criminal investigation has been opened to confirm the cause.
