Alta, Utah — Alta is going to have a busy offseason. Last week, Alta announced that they are currently working on the Supreme realignment project, snowmaking upgrades, and a lodge expansion.
The major project is the Supreme realignment. Since its opening in 2017, its bend has led to quick wear and tear on the Supreme lift, along with a bumpy ride. The eight-degree bend station resulted in the need to realign the lift line this offseason. The terminals will be moved, but will be situated in similar spots. Construction will occur over the next several months, and Supreme is expected to reopen during the 2025-26 season.
The major snowmaking project this offseason is the addition of a new snowmaking pipe around the Transfer Tow. This is the lift that connects the Wildcat and Albion base areas, so getting this area covered with snow early in the winter is important. This project has resulted in the partial closure of the Wildcat parking lot for the foreseeable future.

Finally, the Albion base area will be seeing a significant upgrade. The Albion Lodge is being expanded, with the growth being on the east side of the building. Because of this, part of the lot is closed, and Alta is asking people to park in specific areas. The approved plan from the US Forest Service calls for the new building to be up to three stories. Some of the possible additions include seating, storage, bathrooms, and employee housing.
With all these projects going on, it’s going to be a busy summer up there. If you’re planning a visit up there this summer, it will be wise to check out Alta’s website to see the latest on the impacts of construction.
