Newbury, New Hampshire – A new General Manager will lead Mount Sunapee into the future.

Yesterday, it was announced that Susan Donnelly, who’s currently the General Manager at Crotched Mountain, will become the new General Manager of Mt. Sunapee, effective October 7th. Sunapee’s previous General Manager, Peter Disch, became Heavenly’s Vice President of Mountain Operations this summer.

“With more than 17 years in the ski industry, Sue brings a wealth of experience to her new role as GM of Mount Sunapee and a passion for enhancing the employee and guest experience,” said Bruce Schmidt, Okemo Vice President & General Manager. “Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a remarkable ability to develop high-performing leadership teams, create strategic long-term plans, and build connections with community members and stakeholders. She is known for her dedication to fostering growth among her team members and advocating for and providing inclusive access programming for young skiers and riders. We are excited to see the impact she’ll have on Mount Sunapee, the team and the community.”

Donnelly has seventeen years of experience in the ski industry. She started at Okemo Mountain Resort in 2007 in product sales, then became a Restaurant Manager. For most of her time there, she was Director of Guest Services at the Vermont ski resort.

She went on to become the General Manager at Crotched Mountain in 2021. While at Crotched, she brought back Midnight Madness and various terrain park events. She also grew their ski and ride school programming, which included bringing in Slope Days. She also helped integrate Okemo, Mt. Snow, and Hunter Mountain into the Vail Resorts portfolio.

“My time at Crotched Mountain Resort has been some of the best in my 17-year history in the ski industry,” Donnelly said.  “I am so grateful to the Crotched team, our guests and community for all they have shown me during my time at Crotched. The team is truly one of a kind with incredible resilience and passion for what they do. I will miss calling Crotched home, but I won’t be far away, and I am excited to start my next chapter at Mount Sunapee.”

The new General Manager for Crotched Mountain Resort has yet to be announced.
