U.S. National Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame member and international ski legend Glen Plake celebrates his 60th birthday today, September 9. The mohawked skier, nicknamed the “Pied Piper of Skiing”, helped to grow freestyle skiing and bring it to what it is today. In 2010, Plake was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Though he’s done a ton since then, the tribute video created for that induction seems like a fitting way to celebrate his birthday.
If you’re looking for something a little longer to watch, might I recommend Greg Stump’s legendary movie ‘The Blizzard of AAHHH’s‘? The movie represents Plake’s most iconic film appearance, changing the way people thought about freestyle skiing and ski movies in general.
