Cody, Wyoming- Some disappointing news just came in from Beartooth Basin, as the Wyoming ski area announced that they won’t be opening this summer. The reasoning is due to a lack of snowfall, which aligns with what much of Wyoming and Montana dealt with this past winter.

Located on the Beartooth Highway, the road isn’t open during the wintertime due to snow. This makes opening Beartooth Basin in the wintertime impossible, leading them to open for late spring and the summertime if conditions permit. In recent years, a lack of snowfall has shortened their seasons, so this closure continues that concerning trend. They also didn’t open back in 2022 due to a lack of snow.

Let’s hope that Beartooth Basin reopens next summer.
