Its a good problem to have when you’ve run out of names for the reindeers you’ve been awarded for taking the top spot at the World Cup race in Levi, Finland. Mikaela Shiffrin took home her 89th World Cup (and requisite reindeer) on Sunday with a blazing slalom run despitem suffering a bone bruise on her left knee in a training crash 11 days prior. Mikaela has won 7 times at Levi making her the winningest athlete at the legendary competition. Next stop…Killington on November 25-26….LETS GOOOOOOOO!!!!!

“Well…that was one of the most unexpected things to happen in my career. Obviously I’m really happy but definitely have to acknowledge that luck played a huge role in the victory. Petra was on fire all weekend and even though I’m happy with my own performance and improvement through the weekend, it doesn’t feel great that it ended that way for her today. Having said that, I really am so proud of myself and ESPECIALLY my team for earning a podium today and for working so well as a unit to get to the point that I even had a shot I cannot thank them enough for their work and their patience through the past 11 days. Congrats to Lena, Katharina, and Leona as well for their performances this weekend!” -Mikaela Shiffrin
