Several weeks ago, on February 26th, two Blackhawk helicopters crashed in Mineral Basin at Snowbird. Footage from the crash has been all over the internet since the incident, and we’ve shown multiple different angles in different posts here on Unofficial Networks. Here’s one angle and here’s another.

On March 2nd, those helicopters were finally removed from the resort with the assistance of the Utah National Guard and Nevada National Guard. It seemed likely that the removal would be the last time we covered the incident. However, close up footage from the removal has been posted to YouTube by AIRBOYD, and now we’re showing that footage to you.

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the helicopter crashing into the tree is included in the footage (yes, that really happened during the removal), but it’s still pretty darn cool to see the process of removal up close. You can really see how close the crash was to the resort in this footage. Part of me is so glad I wasn’t there when it happened, and part of me really wishes I was…
