A winter storm is making its way into Colorado today and by Thanksgiving day, we could see up to 14″ of snow in some areas of Colorado!

The storm looks to arrive warm with snow levels between 8500-9000′ but by Tuesday morning those snow levels should drop to 6000-6500′– fingers crossed. Silverton, Telluride, Monarch, Crested Butte, Vail, Steamboat, Loveland, and Summit County should the highest and driest snowfall amounts by the end of the week.

On Wednesday, most of Colorado will a break in snowfall before the snow returns in earnest on Thanksgiving Day!

* SNOW ACCUMULATION…8 TO 14 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ON SOUTHWEST FACING SLOPES.
* SNOW LEVEL…NEAR 9000 FEET… LOWERING TO AROUND 6000 FEET BY TUESDAY MORNING.
* WINDS…SOUTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.
* IMPACTS…HEAVY SNOWFALL AND BLOWING SNOW WILL RESULT IN HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS ESPECIALLY OVER HIGHER ELEVATION ROADS SUCH AS RED MOUNTAIN AND LIZARD HEAD PASS.
